I am a physician-scientist <a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.stanford.edu\/profiles\/aolmsted\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/medicine.stanford.edu\/profiles\/aolmsted\">in training<\/a> interested in social cognition and its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/research\/research-funded-by-nimh\/rdoc\/about-rdoc\">underlying mechanisms<\/a> for biomarker development and treatment targeting. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Social_cognition\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Social_cognition\">Social cognition <\/a>is a way to describe how one percieves, integrates, and applies information about our social environment and the people in it. As a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doximity.com\/cv\/alisa-olmsted\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.doximity.com\/cv\/alisa-olmsted\">board-certified psychiatrist<\/a>, I observe first-hand how the way we connect with others crosses diagnostic boundaries.
